Established in 2003, Spectrum First works with people across the Autism Spectrum, but has developed particular expertise in working with adults who have Asperger Syndrome. (AS)
 
Spectrum First’s Mission is to:
 
  • Challenge the barriers in society which discriminate against people who have Autism Spectrum Conditions. (ASC)
  • Improve the life experiences of people who have ASC.
  • Improve the knowledge and skills of professionals who work with people with ASC.

 Our approach is Person Centred and grounded in the Social Model of Disability as well as current knowledge of ASC. All staff working with us are fully trained in these areas.
 
Spectrum First is managed by it’s Company Director: Christine Breakey. Christine is author of The Autism Spectrum and Further Education, a guide to Good Practice; and co-author of Access and Inclusion for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Both are published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers.

Spectrum First works in partnership with Autistic people and organisations who share similar ideals and beliefs.
